Update About Things

Hey guys. It’s been awhile since we posted here which is kind of unusual for us, but we have been dealing with a lot of things behind the scenes lately and it’s been pretty hard trying to figure it all out. For starters, we still haven’t been able to recover our old website, social media accounts or past show episodes. We’ve been trying everything we can think of but so far it’s been a whole lot of nothing. Grant did manage to recover an old article so I’ll put that up soon but it’s not much. We’ve had a lot of you reach out to us to try to help which is really nice but unless you have an archived copy of an old article or episodes please just comment on our posts instead. The amount of mail we’ve gotten lately has been a bit overwhelming. As for the second point I wanna touch on… I don’t even really know how to say this. Ethan has been AWOL since last fall. None of us or any of his other friends or family have seen or heard from him since we lost our original site and files. The team ...

DÉJÀ-BOO: The Haunting Past of Buck Park Stadium

DISCLAIMER: This article was originally published in 2020, and is from a time in our careers we are not proud of and do not reflect our current views. Our behavior was insensitive and inappropriate, and we did not treat such serious topics with the respect and gravity they deserve. We are re-uploading old articles to our new blog as we find them after the loss of our original website and all our files. So far the accompanying video has not been recovered. We are also no longer associated with the guests featured in this episode; please stop contacting us and their families asking for information about them or their deaths. We do not have information about the situation nor are we in any position to answer questions about it. Emailing us and insinuating that the two faked their deaths for attention while continuing to ship out merch is insane. Their merch is made and shipped by a third-party print on demand service just like we used to use for our own merch. At no point in the process w...

New Site

Hey everyone, sooooo we have some very very sad news. It seems like somehow, overnight, the entire Deja-Boo website just… vanished. All our articles, all our socials, our merch store… 20 years of hard work and memories, all just gone.      We started Deja-Boo when we were still young, a group of kids coming together to explore the old abandoned buildings in our hometown looking for ghosts. Overtime the show grew, we went from friends goofing around with a shitty camcorder and a ouija board to a team of dedicated investigators with professional equipment and an audience that has watched and supported us through it all. Watching back old episodes was like a way to look back into our past and watch us grow up.      And now it’s gone.      Of course, we’re trying absolutely everything we can to recover our old page, articles, videos, etc etc. Grant’s put together this new blog in the meantime, it’s not as fancy as our old site...

SoCal Cryptids: The Blue Ghoul

Today is the final day of our SoCal Cryptids Week special trip. As we prepare to take the Redline back home tomorrow, there's one more creature we need to look into, and an extremely new one at that. Most legends we've covered this week, like the Dog Woman of Watts or the Riverside Brain Tickler, first started circulating decades ago, long before any of us on the Déjà-Boo crew were even born. What makes today's featured creature so unusual is just how recent the sightings and stories surrounding it are.      Around late 2023, stories started circulating online about a terrifying "Blue Ghoul". First spotted somewhere around Maine, people all across the country quickly started to claim that they, too, had seen or encountered the Blue Ghoul, with the most recent accounts putting it in the Los Angeles area. Stories vary, as they always do in these sorts of cases. Some say the Blue Ghoul is a slender humanoid with an eerie voice l...

DÉJÀ-BOO: The Internet's Favorite Vampire: Foreword

Myths of blood sucking vampires have existed for over a thousand years. From Count Dracula to Nosferatu to Edward Cullen, there have been hundreds of reinterpretations and stories about these undead beings. Today, we’re looking into a brand new version of this monster, one those online have taken to calling “The Vamp.”      The Vamp is extremely new as far as urban legends go. In the past, urban legends would be spread over the course of years, hearing the story from a friend of a friend who knew a guy who knew a guy who saw the monster. But in the age of the internet, these myths can spread faster than ever with the story being seen and shared by thousands of people in an instant. This particular urban legend cropped up around March or April of this year.      As far as the story goes, it’s said that The Vamp is a small and plump caricature of a vampire, with a baby face and big black eyes. The beast flies from place to place, drinking ...

DÉJÀ-BOO: Investigating the Forgotten Ghosts of the Bartlebee Candy Factory

(Be sure to watch the accompanying episode, " DÉJÀ-BOO: Investigating the Forgotten Ghosts of the Bartlebee Candy Factory " for the full experience.) Preface:       Weeks ago, we received a manila folder in our PO box from an unknown sender. Within the folder was a single image, with the words "Bartlebee Brands - Factory Nine" scrawled on the back.      While we are certainly no strangers to being sent anonymous ghost “evidence”, it’s unusual to receive such things through the mail in lieu of our email inbox or social media accounts. We were intrigued; while we've heard the name "Bartlebee" buzzing around various urban legends before, we have never ourselves looked into the truth or history behind them. Initially, I wanted to throw this evidence out since it was clearly doctored, but Jessica and Francisco decided we should give it the benefit of the doubt.       Our research into Bartlebee Brands led us to contact a historian by the...

DÉJÀ-BOO: The Poltergeist of Stagbridge Mall

(Be sure to watch the accompanying episode, " DÉJÀ-BOO: The Poltergeist of Stagbridge Mall " for the full experience.) Preface:      Last month, our team was contacted by a frightened woman who claimed her workplace was being haunted by an angry spirit. What's more, she managed to capture its violent outburst on camera. The video she sent to us was compelling, as far as these types of videos go. There were no obvious hidden accomplices throwing things around or fishing line pulling things over, so we decided to look into it.      While the Stagbridge Shopping Center in Mississippi is what's known as a "dead mall", it's not a famous or well documented haunting. In fact up until recently the most supernatural thing about the building was how it managed to stay open so long. Built in the late 80s, Stagbridge Mall's popularity declined steadily as the idea of the shopping mall fell out of favor over the years. Recently though, those employed at the few r...

DÉJÀ-BOO: The Chimpanzee That Haunts Hollywood

While the Déjà-Boo crew always tries to make sure our viewers have a good enough idea of a location and/or person's history to understand what exactly we are investigating, our upcoming episode requires a bit more of an in-depth history lesson than we typically provide. Please turn off your cellphones as we begin the show, because today we're going to be taking a look into the world of Hollywood in 1950.      Ronald Reagan was a popular actor from the 1930s, and remained as such until his unfortunate death in 1950. While he was generally well-liked by audiences, he had a somewhat controversial reputation among actors, as he was elected president of SAG (the Screen Actors Guild) in 1947 only to later sell out several of his fellow union members during the Red Scare. Some of the most recognizable productions he featured in include Kings Row , Always Ended This Way , a variety of WWII propaganda films, and of course, the never-released film that tragicall...

DÉJÀ-BOO: The Restless Spirits of White Oak Hospital

DISCLAIMER: This episode and accompanying article is from a time in our careers we are not proud of and do not reflect our current views. Instead of removing the content and pretending it never happened, we are keeping it up so as not to seem like we're hiding our past. Our behaviour was insensitive and inappropriate, we did not treat such serious topics with the respect and gravity they deserve. Furthermore, certain aspects of these videos contained doctored or otherwise fabricated evidence. If you or a loved one are struggling with mental health, you are not alone. Help is available.
